Health Surveillance

Health Surveillance comes in two forms. It is either a legal requirement or advised in government guidelines.

Some of these would be

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Noise Regulations (audiometery)
COSHH Regulations (lung function testing)
Display Screen Regulations (vision screening)
Manual Handling Regulations (Musculoskeletal checks)
Working Time Regulations (Night worker checks)

STRONGLY ADVISED
Hand Arm Vibration screening
Pregnancy assessments
Fork Lift Trucks assessment
Skin checks
Stress audits.

Health surveillance can be either high level screening or low level screening and this will depend on the outcome of the needs assessment. Working with managers, health and safety and employees we aim to develop an exact programme that covers all of your risks.

Records of the results are produced for you to keep for reference to monitor the effectiveness of controls and to show compliance when the HSE carry out an inspection.

We also keep records of the outcomes in a confidential medical file. It is the content of these files that will help you to defend any claim.

All surveillance is based on HSE guidelines as a minimum but where statutory surveillance is required we will help you to maintain your duty of care to each and every employee.
