Ill Health Referrals

Ill health referrals are managed differently to sickness absence in an attempt to keep the employee at work and prevent illness from unnecessarily leading to an absence.

Where ill health is work related we may need to consider modification of the working role either temporarily or permanently in order to alleviate any issues. We may still need to consider this if it is not a work related issue where it will help the employee maintain regular attendance at work. In either event modifying roles is not taken lightly and the impact of that and whether or not it is reasonably practicable will be considered and discussed with all parties before it is proposed.

Our service helps to identify and develop management techniques to resolve and remove barriers which might otherwise prevent ill health from being controlled.
